Vertical Dynamics Management (VDM): Notes
The following functionalities can be integrated in the Vertical Dynamics Management control unit (VDM):
- Vertical Dynamics Management (activation of damper satellites, e.g. F01)
- active roll stabilization (marketing designation: Dynamic Drive, e.g. F15)
NOTE:
On the F15 only the Dynamic Drive is activated via the VDM control unit. The shock absorbers are controlled directly by the EDC control unit.
This information describes the Dynamic Drive.
The VDM control unit is supplied via terminal 15N (Logic). At the same time, the VDM control unit is supplied with terminal 30 (load).
NOTE:
The installation location of the VDM control unit depends on the series! Note the hotspot for the installation location in the diagnosis wiring diagram!

Dynamic Drive prevents or reduces the vehicles tendency to roll while cornering at high speed or during high-speed evasive maneuvers. Vibration comfort is increased. The turn-in ability of the vehicle is optimized.
