instrument panel test functions 

The test functions are displayed in the TFT display of the instrument panel. The test functions are used in service to check the encoding. The test functions are also an aid to troubleshooting without the diagnosis system.

Starting the test functions 

Locking and unlocking test functions (test function 19 or 10) 

Only the first two test functions are freely accessible. As of the 3rd test function, all other test functions are locked. Unlocking is only possible using test function 19 or 10. The test functions are unlocked by entering the total of the last 5 digits of the vehicle identification number.

Terminating the test function 

Test functions of the multifunctional instrument display 

As with the instrument cluster, the multifunctional instrument display also has test functions which are shown in the display. The multifunctional instrument display has a reduced range of test functions compared with the instrument cluster.

Starting the test functions 

All the described test functions can also be performed via the diagnosis system.

The test functions are shown in the multifunctional instrument display in the position of the revcounter display in the TFT display. The range of test functions is reduced compared with the instrument cluster. It is not necessary to unlock the test functions in the multifunctional instrument display as in the instrument cluster.

The following test functions are available in the multifunctional instrument display:
