Steering column lever, turn indicator/high-beam switch

The steering-column lever on the left of the steering column has the following functions:

Item Explanation
1 High beam assistant button
2 On-board computer button
3 High-beam headlight
4 Triple turn signal, right-hand turn indicator
5 Continuous flashing, right-hand turn indicator
6 Headlight flasher
7 Triple turn signal, left-hand turn indicator
8 Continuous flashing, left-hand turn indicator

The steering column switch cluster (SZL) generates the switching signals based on the status of the column stalk's current position. The switch signals are made available by the steering-column switch cluster (SZL) across the FlexRay.

The footwell module (FRM) receives the request signal via a bus signal from the turn signal/high beam switch as well as from the high-beam assistant button (FLA).

Pressing the on-board computer button in an axial direction triggers the requests for the on-board computer. The steering column switch cluster (SZL) sends the request signal to display the on-board computer functions via the FlexRay.

In the case of vehicle equipment without the high-beam assistant (FLA), the button on the steering column stalk turn indicator/high-beam switch is not required. A large button is used instead.
