51 00... Active engine compartment lid service position (up to 09/2011)

Special tools required: 

WARNING:

Danger of injury and damage.

Engine compartment lid must be held by a second person helping.

NOTE: The operation is described on the left side; proceed in the same way for the right side.

Unlock RETAINING CLIP  (1).

Unclip gas pressure spring (2) in direction of arrow from ball stud (3).

Unlock retaining clip (4).

Remove resetter (5) on hinge at top.

Pull off top section (1) of gas pressure spring (2) towards top.

Push special tool 51 2 240 over gas pressure spring (1).

Clip ball socket of special tool 51 2 240 onto ball stud (2).
