32 41... Replacing Pressure Line For Dynamic Drive (Part 1) (M57T2)
RISK OF INJURY if oil comes into contact with eyes and skin!
Close off pipe connections with plugs.
- Do not allow any dirt particles or foreign bodies to get into the system
- Use only fluff-free cloths
- Remove all traces of dirt before removing pipes or individual components
- Seal all fuel system openings with protective caps
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Catch and dispose of hydraulic fluid in a suitable container.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Draw off and dispose of hydraulic fluid from fluid reservoir
- Remove underbody protection incl. cover. See REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT ASSEMBLY UNDERSIDE PROTECTION , REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION , REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TOP RIGHT STEERING BOX COVER , REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTTOM LEFT OR RIGHT STEERING BOX COVER , and REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TOP LEFT STEERING BOX COVER .
- Remove REINFORCEMENT PLATE
- Disconnect BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD
- Drain COOLANT
- Remove ACOUSTIC COVERS .
- M57T2 TOP: Remove intake muffler with intake duct
- Remove TENSION STRUT FROM SPRING STRUT DOME ON LEFT
- Disconnect coolant hoses above pressure line, remove if necessary
- Disconnect fuel feed and return lines above pressure line
Open cover.
Release nut and remove battery positive lead (1) from battery positive terminal.
Release banjo bolt (1) and disconnect pressure line (2).
Seal pressure line and power steering pump connection with suitable sealing plugs.
Picture shows E70!
Installation:
Replace all sealing rings.
Make sure pressure line is laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.
Tightening torque: 32 41 9AZ .
Release bolts (1) and remove bracket (2) from left engine support arm.
Installation:
Make sure pressure line is laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.
Tightening torque: 32 41 12AZ .
Release banjo bolt (1).
From build date 10/08, release hexagon socket bolts from flange (1).
Tightening torque: 32 41 11AZ (banjo bolt).
Tightening torque: 32 41 16AZ (hexagon socket bolts).
Seal pressure lines with suitable sealing plugs.
Release nuts (2) and remove pressure line (3) in upward direction.
Installation:
Replace self-locking nuts.
Make sure pressure line is laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.
Tightening torque: 32 41 7AZ (nuts).
After installation:
- Add COOLANT
- Fill HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
- VENTING COOLING SYSTEM AND CHECKING FOR WATER LEAKS
- Bleed HYDRAULIC SYSTEM and check line connections for leaks
- Carry out INITIAL DYNAMIC DRIVE OPERATION .
