Brief description of components

When the luggage compartment lid is closed, the electronics detect the lock position from the locking pawl signal and pull the door into the main locking position. The drive for Soft Close Automatic remains in the parked position. When the luggage compartment lid is opened, the drive for Soft Close Automatic moves to the standby position so that it only has to move half a revolution the next time the lid is pulled down to close it. If the luggage compartment lid is placed in the main locking position before the drive for Soft Close Automatic is running (slammed shut), the drive for Soft Close Automatic remains in the standby position. The next time the lid is opened, the drive for Soft Close Automatic does not move.

If the electronics do not detect the two defined positions being reached within 5 seconds, the drive for Soft Close Automatic is switched off. An entry is also made in the fault memory of the junction box electronics (JBE). Thereafter, a change in the locking pawl sensor is enough for a restart.
