- Leave electrical components in original packaging until just before they are installed. Use the original packaging only for any return shipments. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

- Screw all screw points of the cable ducts on again. Some of the screw points are also grounding points.

Preliminary work

- Disconnecting the battery earth lead

- Remove the cover in the left engine compartment
- Remove the right cover in the engine compartment
- Remove the sound insulation on the bulkhead upper part at the center

- Remove the FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION
- Refer to DRAIN THE COOLANT FROM THE LOW-TEMPERATURE COOLING SYSTEM

- Refer to DISCONNECTING CONNECTOR FROM DME CONTROL UNIT AND FROM POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE (PDM)

- Unlock and disconnect connector (1). Loosen screws (2). Remove charge air line from throttle body and place to one side.

- Install tension strut on spring strut dome. Jointing torque: 56 Nm, angle of rotation: 90° NOTE: Replace screws.
- Install the sound insulation on the bulkhead upper part at the center

- Install the cover in the engine compartment on the left
- Install the cover in the engine compartment on the right
- Connecting the battery earth lead
