REP-TAT-P-6135-01 Remove the Front Electronic Module (FEM)
Prerequisite:
- Ignition is switched off.
WARNING:
Working on 12 V electrical system.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach BATTERY GROUND LEAD .
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.
Follow instructions on Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS). Refer to 61 12... NOTES ON INTELLIGENT BATTERY SENSOR (IBS) .
Observe notes pertaining to battery electronics. Refer to 61 12... NOTES REGARDING THE BATTERY ELECTRONICS (LITHIUM ION BATTERY) .
NOTE:
Vehicle programming/coding must be performed after installation.

Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove right LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL
- Remove front ENTRANCE COVER STRIP
- Remove the bottom left INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM
- Remove the SIDE TRIM PANEL in the footwell at the right-hand A-pillar
- Unscrew the bolt (1) and remove the cover (2).
- Loosen the lock (1) in the direction of the arrow.
- Unlock the positive battery cable connector (2) at the top in the direction of the arrow.
- Remove the positive battery cable (2).
- Unlock and disconnect all plug connections (1).
- Unscrew the bolt (2) and remove the front electronic module (FEM) (3).
