REM: Rear electronic module
The rear electronic module represents a new generation superseding existing control units and their functions. There are different versions for the respective vehicle equipment configurations and vehicle type. For example, there is a rear electronic module for the convertible.
The new rear electronic module safeguards functions from the following former control units:
- Footwell module (FRM)
- Junction Box Electronics (JBE)
- Park distance control (PDC)
The rear electronic module unites the functions of previous control units. The rear electronic module controls the processes in the rear section of the vehicle together with the networked control units.
The rear electronic module serves as the control unit for executing tailgate central locking system commands. The rear electronic module assumes the task of activating all the central locking drives in the tailgate.
