Characteristic curve and setpoint values

The electrical voltage at the resistor is dependent on the coolant temperature. A table that specifies the temperature associated with each voltage value is stored in the engine control. This compensates for the non-linear relationship between electrical voltage and temperature.

Please note the following setpoint values for the coolant temperature:

Voltage range 4.9 to 5.1 V
Signal voltage approx. 0.2 to 3.3 V
Response time 15 s
Temperature resolution ±1 °C
Maximum output current 20 mA
Temperature range -55 °C to 160 °C
