REP-TAT-P-6135-01-F30 Remove the Front Electronic Module (FEM)
Preliminary work
- Remove the RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL
- Disconnect the BATTERY EARTH LEAD
- Remove the FRONT ENTRANCE COVER STRIP
- Remove the BOTTOM LEFT INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM
- Remove the SIDE TRIM PANEL IN THE FOOTWELL AT THE RIGHT-HAND A-PILLAR
Prerequisite
- Ignition is switched off.
WARNING:
Working on 12 V electrical system.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!
- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

- Unscrew the bolt (1) and remove the cover (2).
- Loosen the lock (1) in the direction of the arrow.
- Unlock the positive battery cable connector (2) at the top in the direction of the arrow.
- Remove the positive battery cable (2).
- Unlock and disconnect all plug connections (1).
- Unscrew the bolt (2) and remove the front electronic module (FEM) (3).
