Frontal Light Electronics Left (FLEL) and Frontal Light Electronics Right (FLER): Notes

The Frontal Light Electronics, left (FLEL), and the Frontal Light Electronics, right (FLER), control all functions of the LED headlight with the following exception: Turn signal (depending upon the model series the turn signal will either be integrated within the LED headlight or installed as a separate unit). The Frontal Light Electronics, left (FLEL), and the Frontal Light Electronics, right (FLER), govern temperature control in the LED headlight. The input signals are furnished by multiple temperature sensors within the LED headlights as well as signals for vehicle speed and outside temperature relayed through the bus.

The fans are controlled depending on requirements. Following deactivation of the lighting function and "power off" at Terminal 15 the fans may continue to run until the Frontal Light Electronics, left (FLEL), and the Frontal Light Electronics, right (FLER), enter their "sleep" mode. This inhibits the formation of condensation within the LED headlights.

In the event of a temperature sensor malfunction, the fans are switched on at full blast to protect the components in the LED headlight.

Depending upon the model series and the vehicle's equipment level, the Frontal Light Electronics, left (FLEL), and the Frontal Light Electronics, right (FLER), control the stepper motor for the headlight beam adjusters in addition to discharging their lighting control functions.
