Video module (as of 07/2015): Notes

As of 07/2015, the new generation of the video module (VM) is utilized.

NOTE: The new video module (European version) provides the customer the possible to receive the relative stations of subscription TV in countries with DVBT2.

For this purpose, customers require a CA module and potentially an additional subscription TV card. These two components are not being distributed by BMW but by the entertainment industry. The video module is fitted with a standardized insertion slot like most receivers or TV sets do for this purpose.

The video module (VM) is a mobile reception optimized TV receiver for the following digital terrestrial TV standards:

Depending on the national-market version, television programs, radio programs and in addition teletext, EPG (Electronic Program Guide, German Electronic Program Guide) and BML (Broadcast Markup Language) can be received.

Depending on the vehicle equipment and the national-market version, the following video modules are installed:

The rear seat entertainment system (= RSE, stands for "rear seat entertainment") is an optional equipment (SA).
