Ethanol sensor: Notes

In Brazil, the engine has to be enabled to run on fuel with a variable proportion of ethanol from E24 to E100. To make that possible, the ethanol content has to be detected so that the combustion can be adapted to the varying parameters (e.g. calorific value, flashpoint or pinking tendency). That content is measured by the ethanol sensor.

NOTE: The ethanol sensor is used in conjunction with the Flexible Fuel option, SA1AE.

The ethanol sensor is fitted on the low-pressure side downstream of the fuel filter.
