Power Seats: Description

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

The front seats are a 55-45 split style with driver's side armrest. On some vehicles the armrest may also function as a storage compartment. Seat covers may be cloth or leather. Front seats are equipped with manual recliners and either manual or power adjusters. Front seats may also be equipped with power recliners and power lumbar supports. See Fig 1 .

Six-way power seat adjusters are available on front seats. The adjusters use three 12-volt, reversible permanent magnet motors controlled by a switch on the door trim panel. The motors are held on the adjusters with support bracket. Drive cables connect the motors to the vertical gearnuts and the horizontal actuator. The seat can be moved forward and backward by one motor, up and down in the front with the second motor, and up and down in the rear with the third motor.
