Drive Axle Alignment: Description
Use proper universal joint angle to provide smooth operation of drive shaft. Check front and rear universal joint angles with vehicle at proper ride height and full gas tank. Adjust front universal joint by shimming transmission mount. Adjust rear universal joint angle by shimming transmission mount, or repositioning pinion nose.
NOTE:
When both universal joints are not running at about the same angle, operation will be rough and an unwanted vibration is produced.
