Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor:

NOTICE: Care must be taken when handling engine coolant temperature sensor. Damage to the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.

REMOVE OR DISASSEMBLE
- Relieve coolant pressure.
- Remove air duct.
- Negative battery cable.
- Electrical connector.
- Carefully back out sensor.


INSTALL OR CONNECT
- Coat threads with sealer.
- Install sensor in engine. Locking tab on sensor assembly must be located within area shown in image.
- Torque to 13 Nm (10 ft lb).
- Connect electrical connector.
- Air duct.
- Connect negative battery cable.
- Refill lost coolant.
