Pass-Key II(R) System

- Check for CCM codes 30, 31, 32, 33, 42, and 43. See ENTERING & EXITING DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING - CENTRAL CONTROL MODULE (CCM). If no CCM codes are present, check for PCM codes. See procedures in TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. If no codes are present, go to next step.
- If engine does not crank, check PASS KEY FAULT indicator with ignition on. If PASS KEY FAULT indicator turns on for 3 minutes after attempting to start engine, go to PASS KEY FAULT INDICATOR REMAINS ON FOR 3 MINUTES, ENGINE WILL NOT START.
- If PASS KEY FAULT indicator turns on for 5 seconds and then goes out after attempting to start engine, remove theft deterrent relay from relay connector. Connect fused jumper wire between relay connector terminals No. 30 and 87 (Yellow wires). If engine does not crank, go to ENGINE DOES NOT CRANK. If engine cranks, go to ENGINE CRANKS WITH THEFT DETERRENT RELAY BY-PASSED under PASS-KEY II(R) SYMPTOM TESTING .
