Courtesy Lights Do Not Turn On When Unlock Function/Lights

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

On Function Is Requested; Unlock Function Operates Normally

1) Turn ignition off. Disconnect Remote Control Door Lock Receiver/Theft Deterrent Module (RCDLR/TDM) connector. Connect voltmeter between connector terminal C14 (Brown wire) and ground. If voltage is greater than zero volts, repair short to voltage in Brown wire.

2) If no voltage is present, connect fused jumper wire between RCDLR/TDM connector terminal C7 (Gray wire) and ground. If courtesy lights come on, check for poor connection at RCDLR/TDM. If connection is okay, replace RCDLR/TDM. If courtesy lights remain off, repair open circuit in Gray wire between RCDLR/TDM connector terminal C7 and splice.
