Code 11 - Abs Warning Light Circuit Malfunction: Notes
Checks the state of both Amber ABS warning light and Blue LOW TRAC light to identify a situation in which driver cannot be alerted to a system malfunction or of possible slippery condition. An integral lamp driver module controls illumination of ABS and LOW TRAC warning lights. When Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) or Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM) grounds warning light circuit, ABS light will turn off, while LOW TRAC light will be turned on.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart. Use only 10-megohm (minimum) DVOM for all voltage and resistance tests. For identification of circuits and terminals referenced in charts and text, see WIRING DIAGRAM
.
- Determines if ABS warning light can be properly controlled.
- Determines if warning light stays on all the time.
- Checks for other codes which could turn on ABS warning light.
- Determines if ABS warning can be manually turned off.
- Checks integrity of ABS warning light circuitry.
- Checks for short to voltage in ABS warning light circuit.
- Determines if malfunctioning EBCM/EBTCM is cause of Code 11.
