Code 57/62/65 - Abs Motor Circuit Shorted To Ground: Notes

Code 57 - Left Front ABS Motor
Code 62 - Right Front ABS Motor
Code 65 - Rear ABS Motor

This test identifies motor circuit that is shorted to ground. Fault will not allow motor to be controlled at commanded current rate or will cause driver circuit to allow direct current to ground.

Code can set anytime EBCM/EBTCM detects an out of range voltage on either circuits indicating a circuit shorted to ground. Code will be stored, ABS will be disabled and ABS warning light illuminated.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart. Use only 10-megohm (minimum) DVOM for all voltage and resistance tests. For identification of circuits and terminals referenced in charts and text, see WIRING DIAGRAM .

Checks for short to ground in ABS motor high circuit.
Checks for short to ground in ABS motor low circuit.
Checks for motor internally shorted to ground.
Ensures malfunction was not due physical circuit damage or poor terminal contact.
