Memory Functions Inoperative
NOTE:
After repair or component replacement is completed, perform appropriate MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING
to verify system is functioning properly.
- Perform appropriate MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING . Go to next step
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect fused jumper to ground and memory seat/mirror diagnostic connector. Memory seat/mirror module will chime once to indicate Mode 1 has been entered. Operate MEMORY-1, MEMORY-2 and SET button on power mirror switch. Module will chime once at each switch input it receives. If any switch input does not cause a chime to sound, module did not receive an input from that switch, go to step 6). If all switch positions caused a chime to sound, go to next step.
- Disconnect ground from memory seat/mirror diagnostic connector, and then reconnect again within 5 seconds. Module should chime twice to indicate Mode 2 has been entered. Operate left seat switch in all positions. Module should chime once for each open or short circuit to a position sensor or any open in position sensor. If any switch position caused memory seat/mirror module chime to sound, go to next step. If any switch positions did not cause memory seat/mirror module to sound, go to step 7).
- Repair open or short in Gray wire between splice S323 and left outside mirror drive unit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Repair open or short in Black wire between power mirror drive units and seat positions sensors or memory seat/mirror module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, system is functioning properly. Perform POWER SEAT MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING . If symptom persists, replace memory seat/mirror module.
- Check for open in White wire, Purple wire or Orange wire between left seat/lock switch and memory seat/mirror module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuits are okay, go to next step.
- Replace power mirror switch.
