Body Control Module
NOTE:
Following procedure is written specifically for GM Tech 2 scan tool. A generic scan tool may not be capable of performing all necessary reprogramming functions.
NOTE:
After performing BCM setup procedure, inform customer that all personal settings must be reset.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Select DIAGNOSTICS and input all required vehicle data when prompted by scan tool. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE. Select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS. Select NEW VIN and input all required data. Exit back to SPECIAL FUNCTIONS and select BCM REPROGRAMMING.
- When scan tool displays, DO YOU WANT TO SETUP A BODY CONTROL MODULE?, select SETUP BCM hot spot on scan tool. Scan tool will display NOW SETTING UP THE NEW BODY CONTROL MODULE. When BCM has been setup successfully, scan tool will display BODY CONTROL MODULE SETUP IS COMPLETE. When BCM setup procedure and VIN have been entered, go to THEFT DETERRENT RELEARN .
