Scan Tool Data Definitions

8-Digit GM Part Number:  Display indicates the part number of the Module.

A/C Clutch (Actual):  The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the PCM has energized the A/C compressor clutch relay.

A/C Clutch (Desired):  The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the heater and A/C programmer is requesting A/C system operation and the BCM has determined that none of the system performance limits are exceeded.

A/C Pressure:  The scan tool displays 0-4000 kpa (0-580 psi). The output of the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor provided by the PCM via the class 2 serial data link.

Auxiliary Lighting:  The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the exterior lighting demand request from the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR).

Battery Voltage:  Display indicates the battery voltage input, 0-30 volts is the operating range.

Brake to Shift Output: 

Calibration ID:  Display indicates the 4-digit calibration ID of the module.

Component Serial #8-11:  Digits 8-11 of the component serial number of the control module.

Component Serial #13:  Digit 13 of the component serial number of the control module.

Component Serial #17:  Digit 17 of the component serial number of the control module.

Control Head (Desired):  The scan tool displays A/C On or A/C Off. Display indicates the commanded state of the A/C compressor.

Courtesy Switch:  The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the input request from the courtesy lamp switch.

Crank:  Display indicates On when the Crank Voltage circuit of the module receives a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch.

Driver Seat Belt:  The scan tool displays Buckle/Unbuckle. Display indicates the status of the driver seat belt switch.

Heated Seats Cycling Due To Load Mgmt.:  The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. When Active the BCM cycles the heated seats on and off under certain heavy electrical load conditions.

Heated Seats:  The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the commanded status of the heated seats.

Ignition 0:  Display indicates On when the Off/Run/Crank Voltage circuit of the module receives a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch.

Ignition 1:  Display indicates On when the Ignition 1 Voltage circuit of the module receives a battery voltage signal from the ignition switch.

Ignition Voltage:  Display indicates the ignition voltage input, 0-30 volts is the operating range.

Inadvertent Power Output:  The scan tool displays On/Off-Display indicates the commanded state of the inadvertent power relay.

Julian Date of Build:  The scan tool displays year and day. The first digit indicates the last digit of the year that the module was built. The remaining 3 digits indicate the day of the year that the module was built.

Key in Ignition:  The scan tool displays Yes/No. The scan tool displays Yes when the key is in the ignition and the BCM receives a signal from the ignition switch.

LCM Headlamp Switch:  The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the headlamp switch.

Low Coolant Level:  The scan tool displays Low/OK. Display indicates OK when the coolant is at the proper level and Low when the coolant level is low.

Park Lamp Input:  the scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the status of the park lamps.

Pressure Status:  The scan tool displays Low, Normal, or High. Normal must be displayed to allow A/C operation.

PROM ID:  Display indicates the 4-digit PROM ID of the module.

Rear Defog Output:  The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the commanded state of the rear defog relay.

Seat Belt Lamp:  The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. Display indicates active when the seat belt telltale is On and Inactive when the seat belt telltale is Off.

Temperature Status:  The scan tool displays Hot or OK. Hot is displayed when the engine coolant temperature rises above 121°C (250°F). OK must be displayed to allow A/C operation.

Theater Dimming #1:  The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the interior lamps theater dimming #1.

Theater Dimming #2:  The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the interior lamps theater dimming #2.

Traction Switch:  The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the traction control system.

Trunk Ajar Switch:  The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the trunk ajar switch. On indicates the trunk is open and Off indicates the trunk is closed.

Trunk Release Switch:  The scan tool displays On/Off. Display indicates the state of the trunk release switch.

Washer Fluid Level:  The scan tool displays Low/OK. Display indicates the status of the washer fluid level.
