Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Chevrolet Trax and 2016 Buick Encore. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. NOTE:

    The propeller shaft does not have to be removed from this vehicle to replace rear differential module (RDM).

  3. Remove the propeller shaft from the rear differential and re-locate to side.

  5. Remove the electrical connector (3).
  6. Remove the wiring harness from retainers (1) and (2).

  8. Remove the retaining screws (4), retaining nut (3), and the shield (2) from the differential clutch control module (1).

  10. Using the appropriate tool, remove the electrical tie (1).

  12. Remove the mounting screws (1) from the differential clutch control module (2).
  13. Remove the electrical connector (3).
  14. Remove the differential clutch control module (2).
