Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine control module wiring harness to the vehicle.
  2. Raise the vehicle.

  4. Connect the 2 AC compressor wiring harness plugs (1, 2).

  6. Clip in the 5 wiring harness retainers (4).
  7. Connect the heater inlet pump wiring harness plug (1).
  8. Connect the engine oil level sensor wiring harness plug (9).
  9. Connect the crankshaft position sensor wiring harness plug (10).
  10. Connect the starter wiring harness plug (8).
  11. Connect the generator wiring harness plug (6).
  12. Connect the heated oxygen sensor wiring harness plug (4).
  13. Connect the oil pump flow wiring harness plug (5).
  14. Connect the knock sensor wiring harness plug (3).
  15. Connect the charge air bypass valve wiring harness plug (2).
  16. Lower the vehicle.

  18. Clip in the 4 wiring harness retainers (1, 5).
  19. Connect the engine coolant thermostat wiring harness plug (4).
  20. Connect the turbocharger wastegate regulator solenoid valve wiring harness plug (3).
  21. Connect the exhaust camshaft position actuator solenoid valve wiring harness plug (2).
  22. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .

  24. Clip in the 3 wiring harness retainers (2).
  25. Connect the mass air flow sensor wiring harness plug (1).

  27. Clip in the 3 wiring harness retainers (2, 4).
  28. Connect the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve wiring harness plug (1).
  29. Connect the intake camshaft actuator solenoid valve wiring harness plug (5).
  30. Connect the engine oil pressure wiring harness plug (3).

  32. Clip in the 2 wiring harness retainers (1).
  33. Connect the 4 ignition coil wiring harness plugs (2).

  35. Clip in the 3 wiring harness retainers (2, 4).
  36. Connect the throttle body wiring harness plug (3).
  37. Connect the intake air pressure/temperature sensor wiring harness plug (1).
  38. Connect the fuel pump wiring harness plug (5).

  40. Clip in the 2 wiring harness retainers (2, 4).
  41. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  42. Install the engine wiring harness ground cable (7) and the ground cable bolt (8). Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  43. Connect the engine coolant temperature wiring harness plug (6).
  44. Connect the intake camshaft position sensor wiring harness plug (5).
  45. Connect the exhaust camshaft position sensor wiring harness plug (1).
  46. Connect the fuel injection wiring harness plug (3).

  48. Install the charge air cooler outlet air hose (2) to the throttle body adapter.
  49. Fix the clamp (1).
  50. Clip in the coolant hose (3) to the charge air cooler outlet air hose retainer.

  52. For automatic transmission, connect the transmission control module wiring harness plug (2).
  53. Clip in the wiring harness retainer (1).

  55. For manual transmission, connect the backup lamp switch wiring harness plug (3).
  56. If equipped for manual transmission, connect the neutral gear sensor wiring harness plug (2).
  57. Clip in the 2 wiring harness retainers (1).

  59. Connect the wiring harness connection adapter plug (4).
  60. Install the wiring harness plug (1) to the front compartment fuse block housing.
  61. Install the wiring harness ground cable (3) and install the wiring harness ground cable nut (2) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  62. Install the front compartment fuse block. Refer to Front Compartment Fuse Block Replacement .
  63. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .

  65. Clip in the 2 wiring harness retainers (3).
  66. Connect the 3 heated oxygen sensor wiring harness plugs (2) and clip in the wiring harness plug to the bracket.
  67. Connect the 3 engine control module wiring harness plugs (2).
  68. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  69. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
