Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

  1. Install the exhaust system.
    2. Fig 1: Heated Oxygen Sensor

  2. Install the NEW catalytic converter to exhaust pipe gasket (4).
    3. NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

  3. Install and support the exhaust front pipe (2) to the catalytic converter.
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the 3 NEW catalytic converter to exhaust front pipe nuts (3) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  5. Install the heated oxygen sensor (1) and tighten to 42 (31 lb ft).

  6. Install the 2 exhaust pipe front hanger bracket insulators (1).
  7. Install the exhaust pipe front hanger bracket (2).
  8. Install the 2 exhaust pipe front hanger bracket insulator nuts (3) and tighten to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
  9. Install the 2 exhaust pipe front hanger bracket bolts (4) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
    10. WARNING:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Warning .

  10. Install the 2 NEW drivetrain and front suspension frame support bolts (5) and tighten a first pass to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).
  11. Tighten the 2 drivetrain and front suspension frame support bolts a final pass to an additional 30 - 45 degrees, using the EN-45059  meter.
  12. Unsupport the exhaust front pipe.
  13. Install the exhaust muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement .
  14. Install the 2 exhaust muffler bolts (3) and tighten to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
  15. Install the exhaust rear muffler. Refer to Exhaust Rear Muffler Replacement ,
  16. Install the exhaust rear auxiliary muffler. Refer to Exhaust Rear Auxiliary Muffler Replacement .
  17. Install the underbody brace - rear V-rod. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Rear V-Rod .
  18. Install the underbody brace - front. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Front .
  19. Install the underbody brace - middle X-rod. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Middle X-Rod .
  20. Lower and unsupport the vehicle.
