Oxygen Sensor: Description and Operation

The exhaust oxygen sensor, mounted in the exhaust system, monitors oxygen content of exhaust gas stream and produces a corresponding voltage output which is relayed to the ECM. The ECM, by monitoring this voltage signal, sends a fuel mixture command to the injector.
