Accessing Abs Trouble Codes: Notes
- Turn ignition on. Both warning lights should stay on for 30 seconds maximum. If "ANTI-LOCK" light stay on after 30 seconds, turn ignition off. Remove cover and place a jumper wire between ALDL terminals "A" and "H". ALDL connector is located just right of parking brake pedal. See Fig 1 .
- Turn ignition on. Count flash sequence of "ANTI-LOCK" light. A 4 second delay should occur before light sequence begins. If light is on for 4 seconds, then goes out, go to FUNCTIONAL CHECK. 3) There is a 3 second pause between first and second digit code. After second digit code, light will continuously be on. DO NOT count last pause (when light is continuously on), as digit of code. With ignition still on, disconnect jumper wire.
- Reconnect jumper wire. Check flashes again. If more than one code was set, second code will flash. Continue to perform this procedure until no more trouble codes are set. EBCM is able to store up to 7 trouble codes. When all trouble codes have been displayed, disconnect jumper wire. Record all trouble codes and proceed to FUNCTIONAL CHECK.
NOTE:
Trouble codes cannot be cleared unless all trouble codes have been displayed.
