Chart A14 "Pressure Reduction" Fault: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1988 Buick Riviera and 1988 Buick Reatta. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Codes will set when EBCM commands a pressure reduction to a wheel hydraulic circuit for a period of time, but circuit did not respond as EBCM expected to. This could be caused by wheel speeding up when EBCM signaled a reduction of pressure to that wheel.
  2. Possible causes are: erroneous wheel sensor signals, improper valve activation, defective wheel brake or long term exposure to strong electromagnetic interference.
NOTE: Codes 51-54 and 71-74 indicate a condition which may be attributable to either the wheel speed sensor circuit or the outlet valve
