DTC 055: Vehicle Theft Deterrent Control Module Internal Fault Detected: Testing

  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See THEFT DETERRENT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. If DTC was retrieved as a current and history DTC, go to next step. If DTC was not retrieved as a current and history DTC, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  3. Replace theft deterrent control module. See ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS - CATERA article. Reprogram Body Control Module (BCM). See PROGRAMMING  . After replacement, ensure system is operating properly.
