  1. Review operation of power mirrors. See DESCRIPTION & OPERATION  . After review, go to next step.
  2. Place outside rearview mirror switch to "L" position. Using outside rearview mirror switch, operate to UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT positions. Place outside rearview mirror switch to "R" position. Using outside rearview mirror switch, operate to UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT positions. If both power mirrors do not operate correctly, go to next step. If either power mirror operates correctly, inspect for intermittents. See TROUBLE SHOOTING  .
  3. If both left and right power mirrors are inoperative, go to next step. If both left and right power mirrors are not inoperative, go to step  6 .
  4. Disconnect outside rearview mirror switch 8-pin harness connector. Connect a test light between ground and outside rearview mirror switch harness connector terminal "H" (Orange wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  7 .
  5. Connect a test light between outside rearview mirror switch harness connector terminals "A" (Black wire) and "H" (Orange wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates, go to step  9 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  15 .
  6. Disconnect suspect power mirror harness connector. Connect a test light between suspect power mirror harness connector terminals "A" (Light Blue wire) and "D" (Yellow wire). See Figure . Place outside rearview mirror switch to suspect power mirror. Using outside rearview mirror switch, operate suspect power mirror in horizontal and vertical positions. If test light does not illuminate in both directions, go to step  8 . If test light illuminates in both directions, go to step  12 .
  7. Inspect Orange wire for an open or short to ground between outside rearview mirror switch harness connector terminal "H" and underhood fuse block. If problem does not exist, go to next step. If problem exists, repair Orange wire as necessary. After repair, go to step  18 .
  8. Inspect Light Blue wire and Yellow wire for an open between suspect power mirror and outside rearview mirror switch. If problem does not exist, go to next step. If problem exists, repair Light Blue wire and/or Yellow wire as necessary. After repair, go to step  18 .
  9. Connect power mirror harness connector, if previously disconnected. Connect outside rearview mirror switch harness connector, if previously disconnected. Connect a test light between battery voltage and backprobing outside rearview mirror switch harness connector terminals "B" (Light Blue wire) and "C" (Yellow wire). See Figure . If test light does not illuminate at either terminal, go to next step. If test light illuminates at both terminals, go to step  13 .
  10. Connect a test light between ground and backprobing outside rearview mirror switch harness connector terminals "B" (Light Blue wire) and "C" (Yellow wire). If test light does not illuminate at either terminal, go to next step. If test light illuminates at both terminals, go to step  14 .
  11. Inspect outside rearview mirror switch harness connector for poor connections or corrosion. If problem does not exist, go to step  16 . If problem exists, repair outside rearview mirror harness connector as necessary. After repair, go to step  18 .
  12. Inspect suspect power mirror harness connector for poor connections or corrosion. If problem does not exist, go to step  17 . If problem exists, repair suspect power mirror harness connector as necessary. After repair, go to step  18 .
  13. Inspect Light Blue wire and Yellow wire for a short to ground between suspect power mirror and outside rearview mirror switch. If problem does not exist, go to step  17 . If problem exists, repair Light Blue wire and/or Yellow wire. After repair, go to step  18 .
  14. Repair open in Orange wire between outside rearview mirror switch and underhood fuse block. After repair, go to step  18 .
  15. Repair open in Black wire between ground and outside rearview mirror switch. Ground point is located behind left kick panel. After repair, go to step  18 .
  16. Replace outside rearview mirror switch, then go to step  18 .
  17. Replace suspect power mirror, then go to next step.
  18. Operate system to verify repair, If system is not operating correctly, repeat test beginning at step  3 .
