Powertrain Control Module: Installation
NOTE:
If the PCM is being programmed using the Off-Board method, perform the programming before continuing with the steps listed below. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING.
- Install the PCM. Install the PCM connectors. Tighten the PCM connectors screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the intake air duct, MAF/IAT sensor, and the air filter element/PCM housing cover to the throttle body. Be sure to properly install the intake air duct to the throttle body.
- An improperly installed, distorted, or damaged air filter or intake air duct may cause a DTC to set. Align and engage the tabs on the air filter element/PCM housing cover with the slots in the air filter element/PCM housing. Tighten the air filter element/PCM housing cover screws to specification.
- Tighten the air cleaner intake duct clamp at the throttle body to specification. Reconnect the MAF/IAT sensor connector. Connect the negative battery cable. Install the rear seat cushion. Program the PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING.
NOTE:
If the PCM is being programmed using the Off-Board method, perform the programming before continuing with the steps listed below. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING.
- Install the PCM. Tighten the PCM connector attaching bolts. Install the PCM connectors. Tighten the PCM connectors screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the air cleaner cover onto the air inlet housing. Snap the assembly clamps into place. Align the air cleaner intake duct/resonator assembly into place.
- Install the screw onto the air cleaner intake duct/resonator assembly. Tighten the intake air duct clamp to specification. Connect the negative battery cable. Install the rear seat cushion. Program the PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING.
