Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the coolant system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (LA3, LY9) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (LY7) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS6) in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the wiper motor module in order to gain access to the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Refer to Wiper Motor Module Replacement (LHD) or Wiper Motor Module Replacement (RHD) in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  3. Fig 1: Identifying Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor & Electrical Connector

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the ECT sensor.
  5. Remove the ECT sensor from the water crossover.
