Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 GMC Sierra, 2008 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2008 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect harness connectors at all rear object sensors.
  2. Ignition ON, transmission in REVERSE, test for 8.0-9.0 volts between object sensor supply voltage circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the supply voltage circuit for a short to ground. If all circuits test normal, replace the object alarm module.
IMPORTANT: A short to voltage on the component signal circuit may cause this DTC to set.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the supply voltage circuit for a short to voltage. If all circuits test normal, replace the object alarm module.
  3. Connect each rear object sensor one at a time, while monitoring Sensor Feed Voltage Output scan tool parameter. The parameter value should be greater than 8.0 volts.
    • If less than the specified value after an individual object sensor is connected, test or replace that object sensor.
