Enabling the Inclination Sensor - Export

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2008 GMC Yukon XL, 2008 GMC Yukon, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Only export vehicles with the inclination sensor wired to the XBCM require this procedure. If the inclination sensor is wired directly to the BCM this step is not required. Accidental enabling of the inclination sensor will require reprogramming of the XBCM.

Perform auxiliary BCM special function "Enable inclination sensor".

IMPORTANT: After programming, perform the following to avoid future misdiagnosis:
  1. Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
  2. Connect the scan tool to the data link connector.
  3. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  4. Use the scan tool in order to retrieve history DTCs from all modules.
  5. Clear all history DTCs.
