Circuit/System Description

Due to the lack of audible engine noise, hybrid and electric vehicles are very quiet at low speeds. The pedestrian alert system emits an audible sound at speeds less than 34 km/h to alert pedestrians that the vehicle is approaching. The sound will fade in and out and vary in pitch depending on vehicle speed. The K132 Pedestrian Alert Sound Control Module is supplied with B+ and ground. It communicates using serial data. The module outputs a signal to the P48 Pedestraian Alert Sound Speaker.
