Circuit/System Testing

NOTE:

You must perform Circuit/System Verification before Circuit/System Testing.

  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Record the value of the Stop/Start Capacitor Control Module Diagnostic Test Abort Counter scan tool parameter.
  3. Verify the Stop/Start Capacitor Voltage scan tool parameter is 2 V or greater.
    • If less than 2V 
    1. Clear the DTC, perform the Stop Start Capacitor Control State of Health Reset.
    2. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF.
    3. Wait a minimum of 3 minutes.
    4. Ignition ON
    5. Verify the Stop/Start Capacitor Control Module Diagnostic Test Abort Counter scan tool parameter value is not greater than or equal to the reading in step 2.
      • If greater than or equal to the reading in step 2, replace the K176 Stop/Start Capacitor Control Module
      • If not greater than or equal to the reading in step 2, all OK
    • If greater than or equal to 2 V 
  4. Replace the K176 Stop/Start Capacitor Control Module.
