Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
  2. Reposition the Inside Rearview Mirror.

    Using a flat bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  4. Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Bracket Cover Insert (1) - Remove

    Using a flat bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

    Sunshade Support Bolt (1) - Remove

    Roof Console (1) - Remove

  9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    NOTE:

    Left side shown, right side similar.

    Unclip the sunshade and rotate the sunshade to the side.

  11. Open the sunshade support bolt access cover with an appropriate tool.
  12. Sunshade Support Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]
  13. Using the appropriate tool, release the metal sunshade support retainer.
  14. Sunshade Support - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

    Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the retaining clips (2) from the A pillar.

  16. Access the windshield garnish molding bolt (3) on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1).

    Windshield Garnish Molding - Left Side (1) - Remove

    Use a small flat - bladed tool to open the upper and lower assist handle covers (1) to access the bolts (2).

  20. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover (1) - Remove [2x]
  21. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

    Windshield Pillar Assist Handle (1) - Remove

    Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the retaining clip from the A pillar.

    Sunshade Retainer Bolt Cover - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

  26. Sunshade Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [4x]
  27. Squeeze the tabs at the base of the sunshade (3) to detach it from the roof panel and allow the headlining trim panel with the sunshade (3) attached to be lowered.
  28. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  29. Release the retainer (4) attaching the sunshade (3) to the headlining trim panel.
  30. Sunshade - Left Side and Right Side (3) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE:

    Use a small flat - bladed tool to open the bolt cap (1) and gain access to the bolt.

  32. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cap - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]
  33. Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]
  34. Pull the Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel (3) toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the clips.
  35. NOTE:

    The Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel does not need to be fully removed from the vehicle.

  36. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel - Left Side and Right Side (3) - Reposition

    NOTE:

    Fold the assist handle downward and hold.

  38. Use a small flat-bladed tool to open the assist handle covers to access the bolts. (1)
  39. Roof Rail Rear Assist Handle Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [4x]

    Roof Rail Rear Assist Handle - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

  41. Fold the rear seat back to the downward position.

    Push in and slide outward, on either side of luggage shade, to disengage integral luggage spring from the quarter lower rear trim panel.

  43. Luggage Shade (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt Cap - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [4x]

  45. Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [4x]
  46. Pull the quarter window trim finish panel (3) toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the clips.
  47. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  48. NOTE:

    The Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel does not need to be fully removed from the vehicle.

  49. Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel - Left Side and Right Side (3) - Reposition [2x]
  50. Move the driver and passenger seats fully forward and recline.

    Drop the headlining trim panel (1) down.

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  53. Release the retaining tab.
