Removal Procedure

  1. Before removing the old control module, perform the SPS function Prepare Control Module for Removal, if available. Control Module References
  2. Drain the drive motor battery cooling system. Drive Motor Battery Cooling System Draining and Filling
  3. Disable the high voltage system. High Voltage Disabling

    Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Retainer (1) - Release [5x]

  5. Front Compartment Front Sight Shield (2) - Remove

    Disconnect and reposition harness as necessary.

  7. Front Trim Finish Compartment Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
  8. Front Trim Finish Compartment Support (2) - Remove

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Drive Motor Power Distribution Control Module - Disconnect

  10. Electrical Connector (3) @ High Voltage Battery Heater Module - Disconnect
  11. Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Remove [3x]

    High Voltage Battery Heater Module Protector Bolt (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Disconnecting high voltage electrical connectors and testing for voltage MUST be performed during the high voltage disabling procedure but, for graphic clarity, the connector(s) are shown still connected.

    High Voltage Electrical Connector (1) @ High Voltage Battery Heater Module - Disconnect - High Voltage Connectors

    Disconnect the wiring harness retainer.

    Drive Motor Power Distribution Control Module High Voltage Connector Cover Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  46. NOTE:

    Drive motor power distribution control module high voltage connector access cover seal is not serviceable separately.

    Using a magnetic socket, remove the 3 drive motor power inverter module connector bolts (1).

    Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Bolt (1) - Remove [17x]

  50. With the aid of an assistant, remove the drive motor power distribution control module (2).
  51. Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Gasket (3) - Remove
