Engine Control Module (ECM) Replacement

Fig. 1 ECM PROM Access Cover:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove right hand hush panel.
3. Remove the connectors to the ECM.
4. Remove the ECM.
5. Disconnect PROM from the ECM. Fig. 1
WARNING: The replacement ECM is supplied without a PROM, so care should be used when removing it from the defective ECM, because it will be reused in the new ECM.
6. Remove new ECM from its packaging and check the service number to make sure it is the same as the defective ECM.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
