Entering Diagnostics (Manual Diagnostic Mode)
- Turn ignition off. Using a jumper wire, ground Assembly Line Diagnostic Link (ALDL) connector terminal "A" to "G". See Figure. Turn ignition on. CCM will display fault codes and module for which they apply in an automatic display sequence.
- To cancel automatic display sequence, press any button on DIC (this enters manual diagnostic mode). Speedometer display will be blank and trip monitor will display "1.0" indicating CCM is waiting for input from technician.
- Driver Information Center (DIC) buttons are used to command CCM when in diagnostic mode. See DIC DIAGNOSTIC USAGE table. Press TRIP RESET button repeatedly on Driver Information Center (DIC) until "9.0" is displayed in trip monitor area of instrument cluster. See TRIP MONITOR DISPLAY table.
- Trip monitor display "9.0" indicates CCM is waiting on instructions for displaying ABS/ASR information. Press TRIP ODO once on DIC. Trip monitor will display "9.1" indicating CCM is ready to display ABS/ASR fault codes.
- Speedometer will display "- - -", indicating start of fault code display. Press ENG MET button on DIC to display next value. If no fault codes are present, speedometer will continue to display "- - -". If fault codes are present, they will be displayed at this time on speedometer. Continue to press ENG MET button on DIC to display next value until all fault codes have been displayed for ABS/ASR system. When fault code display is complete, speedometer will display "- - -". To back-up during fault code display, press FUEL INFO button on DIC to display previous value. See ABS/ASR FAULT CODES table. EBCM can only store up to 3 fault codes at a time. To exit diagnostics, turn ignition off and remove jumper wire. To clear fault codes, see CLEARING FAULT CODES.
