Section 15 (Instrument Panel - Analog): Testing: Voltmeter

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Pontiac Sunbird. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With ignition switch in RUN position, connect a voltmeter between positive and negative battery terminals. If voltage reading on test voltmeter is same as IPC voltmeter, voltmeter is okay.
  2. If test voltmeter reading is different from IPC voltmeter reading, check wiring, connections and printed circuit. If no problems are found, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
