Oil Level Monitoring

CCM monitors engine oil level using a normally-closed grounding switch. Switch opens when oil level is low. For CCM to turn on LOW OIL indicator, oil temperature during previous ignition cycle must have been 195°F (90.6°C), oil temperature since engine was last running must have dropped at least 105°F (40.6°C), and oil level sensor must be open when ignition is on, indicating low oil.

If LOW OIL indicator is illuminated, wait 10 minutes with engine off and verify oil level using dipstick. Waiting time is required for oil to drain back into oil pan from engine.
