DTC 81, Invalid Vehicle Configuration Detected: Testing

  1. If a new CCM was installed, go to next step. If a new CCM was not installed, using Tech 1 scan tool, check PCM vehicle configuration. If PCM configuration is incorrect, reprogram PCM with correct configuration information. If PCM configuration is correct, to check CCM vehicle configuration, go to next step. If CCM configuration has already been checked, replace CCM.
  2. Using Tech 1 scan tool, check CCM vehicle configuration. If CCM configuration is incorrect, reprogram CCM with correct configuration information. If CCM configuration is correct, to check PCM vehicle configuration, go to step 1). If PCM configuration has already been checked, replace CCM.
