Washer Does Not Operate

  1. Disconnect washer pump connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect test light between washer pump connector terminals. While observing test light, activate washer switch. If test light is off, go to next step. If test light is on, check for poor wiring connection at washer pump. If connection is okay, replace washer pump.
  2. Connect test light between ground and Red wire at washer pump connector. Activate washer switch. If test light is off, go to next step. If test light is on, check for open in Black wire between washer pump and ground. Repair as necessary.
  3. Using test light, backprobe between ground and Yellow wire at wiper switch 48-pin connector. Connector is located behind instrument panel on right side of steering column. If test light is on, check for open in Red wire between wiper switch and wiper motor. Repair as necessary. If test light is off, check for poor connection at wiper switch connector. Repair as necessary. If no problem is found, replace wiper switch.
