Wiper Drive System Module Replacement

Description:

Remove or Disconnect
1. Wiper arm assemblies from vehicle.
2. Air inlet screen from vehicle.
3. Negative battery cable from battery.
4. Connector (14) from wiper motor assembly (17).
5. Two upper screws (6) from washer solvent container and vehicle.
6. Loosen lower washer solvent container screw (6) and rotate container (7) toward front of vehicle.
7. Two screws (21) from LH side of wiper drive system module (20) and vehicle.
8. Three remaining screws (21) and wiper drive system module (20) from vehicle.
9. Six insulators (22 and 23) from wiper drive system module (20).
10. Wiper motor assembly from wiper drive system module.

Install or Connect

NOTICE: Refer to Service Precautions.

1. Wiper motor assembly on wiper drive system module.
2. Six insulators (23 and 22) on wiper drive system module (20).
3. Wiper drive system module (20) on vehicle with five screws (21).

Tighten
^ Five screws to 10 N.m (90 lb.in.).

4. Rotate washer solvent container assembly (7) into installation position, install two screws (6) and tighten one screw (6).

Tighten
^ Three screws to 6 N.m (53 lb.in.).

5. Connector (14) to wiper motor assembly (17).
6. Negative battery cable to battery.
7. Air inlet screen on vehicle.
8. Wiper arm assemblies on vehicle.
9. Operate wipers and check for proper operation.
