Courtesy Lights Do Not Light When Unlock Function Is Operated, But Operate Normally When Any Door Is Open (Door Locks Operate Okay)

  1. Turn ignition off. Observe instrument cluster gauges and indicators. If instrument cluster gages and indicators are OFF, go to next step. If instrument cluster gages and indicators are ON, go to step 3).
  2. Disconnect remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) Black 16-pin connector. Connect test light between ground and RCDLR connector terminal "J" (Pink wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 4).
  3. Repair short to power in Pink wire between fuse block and remote control door lock receiver. After repair, go to step 7).
  4. While observing courtesy lights, connect (10-amp) fused jumper between ground and RCDLR harness connector terminal "S" (Dark Blue wire). If courtesy lights illuminate, go to next step. If courtesy lights do not illuminate, go to step 6).
  5. Check remote control door lock receiver connector for poor terminal contact. If connector is okay, replace remote control door lock receiver. After repair, go to step 7).
  6. Repair poor connection or open in Dark Blue wire between remote control door lock receiver and headlight switch. After repair, go to next step.
  7. Ensure ignition is in OFF position. Reconnect any connectors or components removed. Verify system operation.
