Illuminated Entry Does Not Cancel With Ignition Switch In Run Position, RKE Lock/Unlock Functions Operate

  1. Turn ignition to RUN position. Observe instrument cluster gauges and indicators. If instrument cluster gauges and indicators operate, go to step 5). If instrument cluster gauges and indicators do not operate, go to next step.
  2. Check (10-amp) fuse No. 39 in fuse block. If fuse No. 39 is open go to next step. If fuse No. 39 is not open go to step 4).
  3. Turn ignition off. Replace fuse No. 39. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Recheck fuse 39. If fuse is open again, go to step 6). If fuse is not open, go to step 9).
  4. Check for poor connection or open in power feed to fuse No. 39. After repair, go to step 9).
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) Black 16-pin connector. Connect test light between ground and RCDLR connector terminal "J" (Pink wire). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If test light illuminates, go to step 7). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 8).
  6. Repair short to ground in circuit No. 39 (Pink wire). After repair, go to step 9).
  7. Check RCDLR connector for poor terminal contact. If connector is okay, replace RCDLR. After repair, go to step 9).
  8. Check for poor connection or open in circuit No. 39 (Pink wire). If okay, see ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
  9. Ensure ignition is off. Reconnect any connectors or components removed. Verify system operation.
