DTC 2: Power Output Circuit To Courtesy Lights (Short To Battery Or Ground): Description
Body Control Module (BCM) controls inadvertent load (battery rundown) protection feature. When ignition switch is turned to LOCK/OFF position from ACC or RUN position, BCM will de-energize circuits No. 1393 (Dark Blue wire) and No. 328 (Purple wire) between BCM and courtesy lights for about ten minutes. BCM will restore power to these circuits when:
- Ignition is turned to ACC or RUN position.
- Key is removed from ignition lock cylinder.
- Any vehicle door is opened.
- Instrument panel dimmer switch is turned to DOME position.
- Any courtesy light on these circuits is turned on.
- Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) sends message to BCM to unlock doors (BCM-3 and BCM-4).
- Door is unlocked using key (BCM-4).
DTC 2 will set when BCM detects a short to battery or ground in circuit No. 1393 (Dark Blue wire) or No. 398 (Purple wire). If circuit No. 1393 or 398 is shorted to battery, inadvertent load (battery rundown) protection feature will be disabled. If circuit No. 1393 or 398 is shorted to ground, interior courtesy lights will not turn on. To clear DTC 2, see CLEARING DTCS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
